Ray Hartmann, a local legend with a remarkable 50-year career in media and journalism in St. Louis, is stepping into the political arena to transform our politics. With a steadfast commitment to the community and a deep understanding of the issues that matter most, Ray is running for the 2nd Congressional District in the 2024 election to oppose six-term Republican Congresswoman Ann Wagner.
The 2nd Congressional District is the most competitive in Missouri – the only actual swing district in the state. It’s also a rarity nationally: one of a small percentage of Republican-held seats that’s in play despite gerrymandering. With control of the House of Representatives basically a 50-50 proposition, voters in the 2nd District might cast the 218th deciding vote. This means that the power to shape our nation's future could very well lie in our hands.
“Our nation is at a crossroads like never before. The future of women’s health and reproductive freedom is on the ballot. Democracy itself is on the ballot. A substantial majority of us in the 2nd District want to protect women and all Americans from the danger posed by the candidacy of Donald Trump, who, to borrow Ann Wagner’s previous description of him, is ‘reprehensible.’”
Here at home, 2nd District residents need and deserve a member of Congress who will fight for the people. That means battling for our residents who were poisoned by the U.S. government during the Manhattan Project, voting for major federal infrastructure programs here, and addressing many more issues that – as a career politician – our incumbent Congresswoman has failed to tackle.
Ray Hartmann is committed to being that advocate. With your support, he will bring about meaningful change and ensure that the voices of the 2nd District are heard loud and clear in Washington. Join Ray in this pivotal campaign to make a real difference. Together, we can shape a better future for all.
